New Strategic Initiatives

Coral reef in tropics studied by California Academy of Sciences The Academy has recently launched major new initiatives to understand and sustain the world’s most precious and threatened ecosystems, including coral reefs, tropical rainforests, and California’s iconic ecosystems.

Our efforts will support both new scientific discovery in these areas and enable major breakthroughs in practical environmental conservation, public policy, sustainability practice, and environmental literacy.
